Who's Coming To Our Aid?

Joplin

Joplin

Oklahoma

Alabama

These photos just touch on the disaster that some of the people from Alabama, Missouri and Oklahoma have been faced with. Homes, personal belongings, and peoples lives have been lost. There are still missing people that haven't been located yet. These photos look like a disaster to me. Who's coming to our aid? Who's coming to help us clean up the mess, help our new homeless people and families from the disasters and look for our the missing people? They snub their nose and they might at well say "Don't worry about the Americans, they can help themselves."

When we are hit with some serious devastations, like the tornadoes that recently hit in Alabama, Missouri and Oklahoma, or even the recent flooding right here in Michigan. Hundreds of people in Michigan are trapped in the homes and their basements are flooded. Nothing compared to the tornadoes, but still serious. It makes me think "who is coming to our aid?" We are the first ones to run to the aid of other countries in disaster and our government sends aid, but no one comes to our aid.  We send donations and send volunteers to their aid. I feel badly when disaster happens somewhere else, but my problem is, we are a country in financial trouble and it takes from the aid we have available when we have a disaster. Maybe it's time for our Government to start worrying a little more about taking care of our own first before running to the aid of other countries.

MIA

Wow, what a week already. I have been MIA this week, because I got sick with bronchitis and strep throat. Now that I'm some what better, at least enough to get on the computer, my computer crashed. My lovely 10 year old daughter clicked on a pop up box to win a free Ipod and was filling it out yesterday. God help me, because now I have been sitting here since 6:30 trying to fix this damn thing. Excuse the language, but I have lost all patience. I lost all my files. Including work files and photos. I can't even get on the internet. So, I am blogging from my phone while I am waiting on my computer to restore. I guess my next step will be to restore my computer back to the factory condition if this doesn't work.
My children drive me insane with this computer. I moved the computer to where we sit. All it takes is for you to leave the room long enough to go to the bathroom and they will some how manage to mess it up. No matter how many times you tell them not to click on the pop ups, they still do it!

Little Girls Grow Too Fast

It is amazing how fast little girls grow. It is time for the Jr. Miss Melvindale Pageant and I had planned on letting my daughter wear the same dress this year. I had planned on changing it a little bit by adding a different color sash and adding a a satin bolero short sleeved jacket to give the dress a different look. All the plans I had made went straight out the window after trying on the dress yesterday, it was way too small. In fact, it's not even possible to have the dress tailored. I was so disappointed, because I found this pretty apple color beaded sash that would have looked so pretty with the dress and after what I had paid for the dress, I was hoping she would at least get to wear it more than once. But, no such luck. I hadn't even realized she had grown that much in less than a year. The pageant is only three weeks away and I will be starting completely over, an extra expense I am not looking forward to. But, she has been really looking forward to the pageant and I can't dissappoint her.

The Secret Is Out About Arnold Shwarzenegger's Love Child

The big secret is out, Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger are getting a divorce, because Arnold did the unthinkable and fathered a child with one of his household staffers. When I first heard the news, my first thought was "Why bother getting a divorce at this point in their life?" Now I completely see why Maria would want a divorce, he had an affair with one of their staff right under her nose and had a child with her. Arnold is lucky the woman didn't try to blackmail him with him being the Governor of California.

It makes you wonder how Maria Shriver missed something like that with them all in the same household and not even know one her staff members had a child by her husband. That has to feel like the ultimate betrayal. Their children had a a brother and they didn't even know it. I can only imagine how the child must feel. I am sure he didn't even know that Arnold Schwarzenegger was his father. The poor child has probably been wondering who his father is and he has been right under his nose all this time. The child is 13 years old, what would take Arnold so long to tell his wife? He kept his secret and deceived his entire family for his career.

Schwarzenegger said in a statement to The Times.
“I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family,”  “There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.”

I feel sorry for Maria, she sacrificed her career in journalism and supported her husband, so Arnold could pursue his political career. Personally, I feel that even as Governor, he should have told his wife about his affair. If the woman was willing to live a lie to protect his career, I don't think she would have went public with the affair if he had told his wife about the affair and his child. He cheated his child of having a father. Who would blame the child if he didn't forgive him for hiding him away like he was dirty laundry.

Beiber Fever

I am so tired of hearing about Justin Beiber. My 10 year old daughter has Beiber Fever. He is plastered all over her wall, he is her phone screen saver and she walks around the house talking about Beiber like he is some kid that goes to her school. The MTV show ABCD, even had an episode dedicated to Justin Beiber, where all of the dances had to have a theme related to Justin Beiber. I am so ready for her to grow out of Justin Beiber. I think Beiber is one of those young stars who rise to fame quick and then his flame will burn out and he will be a washed up star. His only hope is in a acting career. His fan base is limited to young girls and those young girls are going to grow out of him. Justin Beiber is only going to be young so long and fevers go away eventually.

Cancer Fighting Foods

A lot of us have a fear of getting cancer. Cancer is one of the scariest deceases. But, there are ways to decrease your chances of getting cancer by eating certain foods. Whole grains, vitamins and minerals  help fight cancer. Phytochemicals can be found in wild blueberries, black currents, muscadine grape juice, black rice, unpolished brown basmati rice, jasmine rice and black pasta. Phytochemicals are the active health-protecting compounds that are found as components of plants. A list of other cancer fighting foods can be found at The American Institute For Cancer Research.

Mothers Day

I had a very nice Mothers Day this year, except for the cold I woke up with on Sunday morning. I got my hair, my eye lashes and brows done from my honey, my kids bought me a grill with supplies, a pair of earrings, some lotion, and of course some very nice cards that make you teary eyed. I know a mother wanting a grill sounds a little strange, but it was greatly appreciated. I enjoy grilling, especially since it means less mess and less time spent in the kitchen. It is so much easier than standing there slaving over a hot stove in the summer. I would much rather be sitting in the backyard and cooking on the grill, plus I love family barbecues. We have such a fun time when we get together and have a barbecue. I always look forward to the summer holidays, it gives me an excuse to get everyone together for a barbecue. I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Mothers Day.

Benefits Of Red Wine

I am adding wine to my diet. I recently read that drinking a glass or two of red wine before dinner will speed up a woman's metabolism and you will eat less at the dinner table. Now that I am taking medication that has weight gain as a side effect. I need something to boost my metabolism. Because, I seem to have gained a little weight since taking it and I am having trouble getting the weight off. With wine involved, I don't have a problem trying that diet. But, the trick is not to drink alcohol at least two hours before bedtime. So, pour that glass of red wine while your cooking dinner. It worked yesterday, I was full a lot sooner than usual. Another good  reason to pour a glass of wine before dinner is red wine cancels out some harmful substances produced by meat in the stomach.

The Big Debate Over The U.S. Interrogation Methods

With the recent capture of Bin Laden, Liberals who oppose the so called harsh interrogation techniques brought in by the Bush administration have brought the debate to the surface again. Honestly, I think the debate is ridiculous. Does the Middle East have any sympathy for our American Soldiers when they are torturing them while they interrogate them? Do they have any sympathy when they burn their bodies alive? Bin Laden was lucky to be shot in the head, he died instantly. Imagine the pain our American Soldiers or Americans suffered while being tortured at the hands of Iraqis or the Al Qaida. War is not humane. Therefore, expecting the U.S. Military to be humane in the time of war or when interrogating those who have participated attempting to kill or kill American citizens is unrealistic. Was Bin Laden concerned about how humane his techniques were in his multiple attempts to bomb the World Trade Centers? No, he didn't! He devoted his life to inflicting the most possible damage on the United States.

Liberals can not expect the American Government and Military to be a bunch of pansies when dealing with terrorists. The country we live in would not be the country they live in if our government was always concerned about being humane in the time of war or dealing with terrorists. They would not be able to walk outside their door or sit in their homes without hearing a bomb go off. Liberals are taking their freedom for granted and should thank our government for being strong. I have been to Iraq and Jordan, sat in the living room of my ex-husband's family and heard a bomb go off just a few blocks away and have seen the military walking in the streets. When I arrived back in the United States, it was such a feeling of relief to know that I was safe. The feeling of being safe is taken for granted by Liberals who oppose the United States interrogation tactics. I have no sympathy for terrorists. I have sympathy for the Americans who have been tortured or killed by terrorists, not for those who have committed their life to terrorizing the United States or the Americans who fight for our freedom.
