More Crazy Beards & Facial Hair

Creative, but a little scary.

I wonder if he did this, because he couldn't grow a full one?

He just looks creepy. Hmmmm... Do you think there is any birds nesting in there?

One of a kind...

I'm not sure what he looks like. A troll, maybe.

He might want to grow some hair to go with that beard.

Your Astrological Sign May Not Be Yours

There is a lot of talk out there about how your astrological sign may be changing. I don't put a lot of stock into astrology, but it is interesting and fun to read sometimes to see how close their guess actually is. Sometimes, they are actually pretty close, but I think that may be a matter of coincidence rather than a real science to it. I am a Virgo. Which is a earth sign. That would describe me pretty good. But, if they change my astrological sign I would be a Leo. Leo is the fire sign, a masculine, positive extrovert sign. I am not really an extrovert. I can be a little shy at first, but friendly around people I have just met. But, I can be an extrovert with people I know and in familiar situations.
Because of the Earth's wobble, astrological signs may be off by a month and you could be following someone else's astrological sign.  Astrological signs are determined by the position of the sun relative to certain constellations on a person's day of birth. The problem is, the positions were determined more than 2,000 years ago. Nowadays, the stars have shifted in the night sky so much that horoscope signs are nearly a month off. How disappointing, I have been a Virgo all my life. How could they change it now?

These are the possibilities of what your new astrological sign could be.

Naughty Kitty Gets Stuck

There were many mornings sitting here in the kitchen with the curtains closed, drinking my morning cup of coffee and wondering why does this set of curtains have little pin holes and the others don't? With the curtains closed, you can see the sun shining through the pin holes. I always thought it was the cat making the holes, but I haven't caught her until last night when she got stuck hanging on the curtains. My husband and I were sitting there watching television last night when my youngest Sammy frantically yells from the kitchen, "Mom, come here, Sasha is stuck." This time the guilty little kitty couldn't run away when she heard foot steps coming her way, she was stuck hanging there for us to find her. I wonder how long she was hanging there before Sammy discovered her? It was hard to yell at her because, I was too busy laughing at the scene of her hanging there on the curtain with no way to get down.

Antibiotics or No Antibiotics?

They are constantly changing research on what is good for you and what is not good for you. In the past they have said that it is better to take a wait and see approach as apposed to prescribing antibiotics right at the onset of an ear infection, because it can lead to children building up a resistance to antibiotics. Now, researchers are saying it better to prescribe antibiotics once a child has been diagnosed with an ear infection. I personally feel doctors let things go too long before prescribing antibiotics. My daughter was sick last month and one doctor said it was just a cough and I would have to let it run its course. A week later she got worse in the evening and I ended up running her to the emergency room and they prescribed her antibiotics, she had the whooping cough. She could have been over it by then if only the doctor prescribed antibiotics. Antibiotics are not appropriate for everything. Somethings are just viruses and antibiotics will do nothing. But in some cases, I think antibiotics is under prescribed and children are being left to suffer with an illness longer than necessary.

Mayhem In The Morning

I woke up this morning to the kids fighting over the bathroom. Sammy was taking too long in the shower and Adam needed to get in the bathroom to fix his faux hawk. I think she was taking her time in the bathroom just because he wanted in. He was mad because he went to school with his faux hawk looking like crap, because he didn't have enough time to get his faux hawk just right. They threw off my morning completely, because they were going back and forth for about a half hour no matter what I said. He's 11 years old and it literally takes him an hour in the morning to get ready for school. He take his shower, puts on his deodorant and cologne and carefully constructs his faux hawk. To me it looks like a Mohawk by the time he is done with it. He's a boy and he refuses to go anywhere with out his hair done and if he does, he has to wear a hat to cover his hair. The rest of his friends are still sporting the normal haircuts and t-shirts, polos and jeans. My son on the other hand, does his hair, puts on cologne, wears skinny jeans and concert t-shirts with his wallet that has a chain hanging from it. He even does this when he is going to play with his friends. At this rate, I have a long road ahead with the primping. He is a high maintenance boy and he's very difficult to buy clothes for. He never likes anything I pick out. I told him this morning, I was going to shave his Mohawk off because he looks like a rooster. I didn't think I would have to worry about them fighting over the bathroom until they became teenagers. Oh, and let's not forget she was yelling at him to shut the television off. Even though she turns it right back on as soon as he walks out the door to catch the bus.
