Indiana College Refuses To Play Our Anthem?!

A school in Indiana has decided to ban the National Anthem at their sporting events claiming it is in violation of the school's core values.

We recognize that some people may not be satisfied with this decision, but we believe it is the right one for Goshen College," Ricky Stiffney, chairman of the Mennonite school's board of directors, said in a written statement.

"The board has a diversity of views on this issue as reflected through the process of considering the anthem."

"It's obviously about a battle," Goshen College art professor John Blosser told FOX News Radio. "It's rather violent. It's about using violence to conquer and that would be something that many people here would have problems with."

The Star Spangled Banner is violent? Seriously, how ridiculous can you get? This is the United States of America. Not playing the anthem at sporting events is unpatriotic. What else are they going to take away? This is the only country in the world where they tip toe around everyone. They take the Pledge of Allegiance out of schools and now a college refuses to play the The Star Spangled Banner. Where are our youth going to learn about being patriotic? Patriotism teaches our youth loyalty. What are we teaching our youth, that being patriotic and having pride in your country is a bad thing? At this point, I think it is time for the United States Government to step in and make it a requirement for the schools to say the Pledge Of Allegiance and require schools to play the anthem at sporting events. Trying to make everyone happy is taking away what this country was built on and the entire issue of trying to make everyone happy is out of control and time to go back to our own country's core values. If they don't want to say the Pledge, stand in a moment of silence and if they don't want to hear the Anthem block it out. But, quit whining about being offended! I can't imagine children growing up not knowing the Pledge or not knowing what our Anthem is. It's a shame!

Pageant Time

Pageant time is almost here. The pageant begins on Saturday and goes through Sunday. So, it will be a busy weekend for us. My little princess gets so excited when it's time for the pageant and starts asking if it is time to sign up for the pageant yet as soon as spring hits. What little girl doesn't like dressing up like a princess? Every since she was three years old, she was convinced she was a princess. She would walk around at the age of three, telling people "I command you to.... because, I am the princess. It may be partially my fault she was convinced she was a princess, because I allowed it. Because, it was just too cute. She is a girly girl through and through. She loves anything pink, cheer leading and pageants. I recently found her a t-shirt that says "God was showing off when he made me" in pink writing.  It's now one of her favorite shirts. It is so hard not to feed into her big head, she's the baby, an honor roll student and has never gotten in trouble in school. Some day, we are going to have to burst her bubble that she isn't a princess or I may regret it when she's a teenager. But, for now she's my little princess.

Spiders, Spiders, Spiders!!!

I absolutely hate spiders. I don't know for sure exactly what is going on, but there are more spiders than usual this year. Big ugly black furry spiders with stripes. Yikes, red spiders, brown spiders and white spiders. I think with all the rain, it has become a breading ground for spiders. When I was weeding the front shrubs today, I probably killed around twenty spiders with bug spray. I might have to call an exterminator this year, because we are finding a few in the house. I have a fear of spiders. About 10 years ago, I got bit by a spider under my eye while I was sleeping and had to go the emergency room, because my eye was bruised and swollen shut. They put me on an anti-venom and it made me so sick for about two days. So, now I have a real fear of spiders. They can sneak up on you and crawl on you without you even knowing. They are sneaky and ugly!!

12 Year Old Charged With Armed Robbery

What the hell is wrong with some kids? A 12 year girl attempted to rob a store in Highland Township, Michigan at gun point. She walked into the Country Lake Market on Milford Road with a bandanna over her face and pointed a 9 mm hand gun at the clerk and demanded they hand her the money. The clerk recognized the girl and with two other clerks, they wrestled her to the ground. That is totally insane. You would not even think a 12 year old girl is capable of committing armed robbery. The girl was a 6th grade student at Highland Middle School. I have an 11 year old son in the 6th grade. I can't imagine hearing about one of his friends or classmates being arrested for armed robbery. Maybe a teenager, but not a 12 year old girl. The scary part about it, the 9 mm hand gun was loaded!
