Sarah Palin For President?????

So, the buzz out there is Sarah Palin is preparing herself to run for President of the United States. I am not opposed to a woman running for President, I'm a woman and think it would be a great leap for women. I am more opposed to another Republican getting into office. Yes, I am a democrat through and through. I have always said the average American making under $500,000 a year can not afford to be a Republican. This country is messed up enough. Even though there has been a very slight improvement to the economy, a Democratic President can not dig this country out of the trenches Bush dug us into. They need at least two consecutive terms to see a difference.  Then of course history will repeat itself, people will be doing better and falsely lead themselves to believe if you make over $100,000 a year, you are wealthy and will benefit from a Republican President.  Sorry to burst your bubble, your not considered wealthy or available for the tax breaks Republicans offer unless you make over $500,000 a year (but, they won't tell you that). So, God help us all if Sarah Palin wins the election. Obama is the best thing we have seen in years and I would hate to see him go before he has had an opportunity to dig us out of this mess Bush has put us in.

21 Year Old Hollingsworth Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Her God-Daughter

A local Detroit woman, Nichole Hollingsworth had federal charges placed against her for drugging her 3-year-old god-daughter by sending pornographic pictures of her to a man in Missouri. The complaint lists the content of several messages exchanged between Hollingsworth and the man, which indicate a romantic relationship and a desire to kidnap and sexually assault young children together. They also found messages where Hollingsworth told the Missouri man she wanted to learn how to become a sexual predator and wanted to kidnap children with him to sexually assault young children. Hollingsworth blew marijuana smoke in the child's face and drugged her with NyQuil then took pictures and videos of her sexually molesting the child while babysitting the child. No one suspected the 21 year old woman of molesting the child. That goes to prove you have to be very careful of who you trust your children with. This world we live in is a crazy place

The History Of The Jack-O'-Lantern

Carving pumpkins has become a tradition on Halloween Night that has been passed down from generation to generation. People have made carving pumpkins on Halloween an art. Pumpkin carvers on Halloween are always looking for new ways to be creative with their carvings. But, where did the idea of carving pumpkins come from? The primary purpose of a jack-o’-lantern in tradition was that to be placed in the window of a home or on the doorstep to ward off evil spirits, and sometimes even Stingy Jack himself.

The Legend of Stingy Jack

The legend of Jack O' Lantern goes back to hundreds of years in the Irish history. The original Jack O' Lantern was not a pumpkin, but a miserable, old drunkard who played tricks on anyone he could lay his hands on, including family, friends, his mother and even the Devil himself. As the story goes, one fine day, he tricked the Devil to climb up an apple tree. Once the devil reached up the tree, Stingy Jack placed crosses around the tree, so that the Devil was unable to come down. Only when Jack took a promise from the Devil that his soul would not be taken away when he dies, he allowed the Devil to come down. After many years, when Jack finally died, he went to the bejeweled gates of heaven, where Saint Peter told him that he was mean and cruel and led a worthless life on earth. Jack reached hell, as he was not allowed to enter heaven. The Devil also kept his promise and didn’t allow Jack to enter hell. Jack was scared that he would have to keep wandering in the unending darkness between heaven and hell, since he was not welcome anywhere. Jack asked the devil where to find his way in the darkness. The Devil tossed an ember from the flames of the hell to help Jack light his way. Jack kept the ember safely in a hollowed out turnip, his favorite food. From that day onwards, Stingy Jack roamed around on the earth without any place to rest, with his lit Jack-O' Lantern. The Irish people kept the fable of Stingy Jack alive by hollowing out turnips, rutabagas, gourds, potatoes and beets on All Hallow's Eve. They placed a candle in them, to ward off the evil spirits and keep the Stingy Jack away. These were the original Jack-O-Lanterns. But later on, the Irish migrants discovered that pumpkins were much easier to carve than turnips etc. and switched over to pumpkin-carving. The modern day Halloween celebrations have improvised pumpkin carving beautifully. Pumpkin-carving activities are perused with great enthusiasm on Halloween and people of all age participate in it with keen interest and eagerness.

Dianna Agron Apologizes For Her Racy Photos Of The Past

Dianna Agron regrets posing for racy photos in her mid-20's and apologizes for the photos.  Seriously, everybody is only making a big deal about the photos because the television show Glee is becoming a hit. I've never watched the show but I really don't think it should matter if she posed for some racy photos in the past.  Now, considering her character, I think she should be questioned if she was posing for the photos during her contract with the t.v. show Glee. First of all if you don't want your children watching the show. THEN DON'T LET THEM! Parents should put more effort into monitoring their children then trying to make a big deal out of some old photos of an actress or actor.  By making a big deal out of the photos, they are bringing more publicity to the photos and your children are more likely to find them on the net when they open your homepage, because the story will be right there on the front page because these parental groups are making a big deal of it. So, yes now your kids have probably seen the pics already because the parental groups has just made it a big story.

80's Band Wagon

These shoes kill your feet!
What's with trying to bring back the 80's fashion? Fashion trends in the 80's weren't all that great in the 80's. I grew up in the 80's and when I look back. I don't think they are worth reliving the fashion. So, why bring them back? I think the fashion designers have run out of ideas so they are trying to bring back the 80's with a twist.  A few years back it was the 70's and now the 80's. What's next the 90's? What was the fashion of the 90's? I'm not sure if there was anything that stood out. Leg warmers, they were ugly back then and they are still ugly and the striped foot socks that fit your feet like a glove.... they are still hideous! Skinny jeans with the stilettos.... they make everyone look like they are walking on sticks.  Personally, I prefer the flair jeans with wedge shoes. I was so relieved when wedges come out.  Woman can actually wear heals and be comfortable without our feet killing us every time we put a pair of heals on. Well, the 80's are back with skin tight jeans and uncomfortable shoes... Comfort has gone out the window again.

The Pre-Pubescent World Of Middle School

What happens to boys when they hit middle school?  My son is making me crazy over clothes now that he has entered the pre-pubescent world of middle school.  All of a sudden he can't wear regular tees to gym class anymore. He has to have the silky basketball shorts with the matching shirt.  He ran out of shirts this morning to go with his shorts. So, I told him "grab a t-shirt that matches." His response was "I can't!" So, I asked him "why not?" He says "Because, I can't wear that to gym class."  Now, he forgets I just had one graduate from high school, I am not stupid enough to believe he can't wear a regular t-shirt to gym class. I know the school does not require parents to go out and buy the basketball sets for them to wear to gym class. When we were growing up, I just grabbed any old t-shirt and shorts to wear to gym. Nobody cares what you wear to gym class. He is the same way about his clothes. At 5th graduation, I couldn't get him to wear a nice shirt. He insisted on wearing a t-shirt. Now, he will only wear skinny jeans, brand name tees or button down shirts. He thinks he has to have Axe shampoo and deodorant. He's even concerned about how he looks when he's out playing with friends and insisted on getting a faux hawk and actually does his hair everyday. Sometimes, I wish he was still into the tees and baggy pants phase, he was much easier then. He wants his ear pierced, but I won't allow that one. I think boys should look like boys. Isn't it kind of early for him to worry about all this stuff already?  I wish he worried about keeping his room clean as much as he worries about his appearance. Then there's the mouth and talking back. The funny thing about it, on his progress report, his teachers said he was a pleasure to have in class. How do they have such personality changes after they get off that bus? God help me, this is just the beginning.
