TLC "Sister Wives"

I start a new job on Monday, so I thought I would just relax on Friday since those days would soon be over. I was watching Hollywood Access the other day and they had the family on the show from the reality television show the Sister Wives. I found the show On Demand, so I started watching the show from the beginning. I was interested to see how they function as a family and how they really feel about being "sister wives." Which wasn't too hard to do, the show is only a half hour or 24 minutes On Demand.

Starting with the first show, they make it appear as everything runs smoothly and they are all happy. I try not to be judgemental about how others live their life. But, I find it difficult to believe, their isn't any hard feelings about sharing their husband's love and attention with other women. They chose that particular lifestyle for their own reasons, each one of them for different reasons. The common factor among all of them is one of the reasons they chose the polygamy lifestyle is because of their religion and faith. Cody's philosophy is "Love should be multiplied, not divided." But, by taking on more wives, isn't he dividing his love amoung his four wives?

As the show unravels, the dirt comes out. They all care about one another and want this lifestyle. However, there are feelings of jealousy. When the show starts, he only has three wives. Then it comes out that he is courting another woman for marriage and wants to bring a fourth wife into the picture. Personally, I feel he is being selfish and inconsiderate. His first wife and third wife begins to cry as they are talking about bringing a fourth wife into the picture, because they are only getting him once every third day as it is and if he takes on a fourth wife it will go to every fourth day. The third wife feels he pays a little more attention to her because she is new. The first wife says that she isn't sure if she will be able to continue with this relationship if he takes on another wife. What does he do? He asks the soon to be fourth wife to marry him. He should respect the feelings of his wives. Two of them work to contribute to the family and feel they are just getting by. Adding a fourth wife with children and the expense of a wedding will make their money even tighter.

Before the fourth wife, he already has three wives and 13 children between them. Now, he wants to and does bring in a fourth wife with two children of her own into the family. Knowing two of his wives are not happy with a fourth wife coming into the family and he still does it without their consent, says he is very selfish. He should respect their feelings. After all, he already has three wives. What does he need a fourth one for? You would think it could be a little exhausting to keep up and maintain relationships with his current wives. Not to mention keeping up with their sex lives. Sounds to me like he is trying to create his own little compound. To each his own, I wish the best of luck to all of them and hope the children come out of this situation okay. I just feel sorry for the two wives that are having problems dealing with their feelings of jealousy. But, that's what they signed up for, they knew what they were getting into by marrying a polygamist.

A Speechless Friday

When I woke up this morning and looked out my window, this is what I saw. I was so disappointed! They said we were going to get snow, but not this much and earlier in the week were weren't supposed to get any snow. This really puts a damper on the weekend, we had plans. Now I am going to freeze my but off in that cute little dress I had planned on wearing. Instead of wordless Wednesday, I am having a speechless Friday.

Paramedic Being Sued For Stealing A Foot

Former St. Lucie County Fire District firefighter-paramedic, Cynthia Economou, is being sued by the victim of a car crash for stealing his foot. Economou admitted to taking Karl Lambert's foot after the Sept. 19, 2008, crash. Economou says she took the foot to train her body recovery dog.

A lawsuit filed during the past week on Lambert's behalf alleges that Economou's actions were "outrageous and went beyond the bounds of decency ... odious and utterly intolerable in a civilised society".
Lambert's Attorney is also suing the Lucie County Fire Department,  as Lambert and his attorney claim that the district was "vicariously liable for any and all actions" by Cynthia Economou.

Cynthia Economou was charged with petty theft and was sentenced to six months probation for stealing the foot. The paramedic told the court she found the foot in the wreckage an hour after he was air lifted to the hospital and if she thought the foot was re-usable she would have told her commander. She says, "It was an unrecognizable mass of flesh."  Economou says, she got permission from her supervisor to take the foot. She says, at first he said no then he said "I don't want to know about it."  I guess he should of stuck with his gut reaction to say no. Now, the fire department and Economou is being sued by the victim.

Off To The Vet

Well it's that time of year where it is time for the cat and the dog to go to the vet and get their vaccinations and dear old Max has another ear infection. I absolutely hate going to the vet. By the time they are done, they leave you standing there with empty pockets. It costs more to take an animal to the vet than it does to take your child to the pediatrician. I never have figured out why it is so expensive. Well, it's time for me to go find the little kitty cat so I can put her in her crate. She is going to hate me for the rest of the day, at least until it's time for her can food tonight.

Horoscopes... Do they ring true?

Did you ever notice that sometimes horoscopes seem to ring true or be very close to what you are going through at the time. I often wonder about that. I subscribe to the IVillage Horoscopes and  lately, it seems like my horoscope seems to be ringing true more often than not. Sometimes they can be completely off, but they seem to hit the nail on the head more than half the time. It makes me wonder if astrology actually has anything to do with our personalities or do we create our own destiny by reading horoscopes? What made me think of this was, this morning I was reading my emails and I read my horoscope for yesterday. After reading my horoscope, I said to myself  "I wish I had checked my emails again yesterday instead of this morning."

I have a friend of mine who is my best friend and we have been friends since we were 10 years old. Which makes 30 years now. Her birthday is only one day before mine. It seems like the things we are going through coincide with each other and we laugh and say, it must be in the stars. We both live in two different states and both got pregnant once at almost exactly the same time and it wasn't planned.  I was on birth control and got pregnant anyway.  Our due dates were only different by a few days. We met our husbands around the same and got married around the same time without planning it. However, I am divorced from that husband and she is still married to hers. That time the stars were off. It is just funny how events in our lives coincide with one another and we are both Virgos.

Do horoscope ring true for you or are they completely off?
