Yahoo Comments

As I sit and read some of the responses to the Yahoo articles, it is obvious how some people are really ignorant to what is really going on in the world around them. They say stupid things like, people are just whining about the economy because, for the first time in their life they are forced to shop wisely and they can't upgrade to the latest IPhone. You can save money, but the money is going to run out eventually. To me that is just complete ignorance. When was the last time they drove through the average American neighborhood and saw all the foreclosure signs on the homes? This recession has nothing to do with not being able to upgrade your phone every six months. This recession is about middle class families losing their homes and struggling to put food on the table for their children or to pay their utility bills to keep heat on in their home so their children aren't laying in their beds freezing at night. That is the meat of the recession, it has nothing to do with not being able to upgrade to the latest IPhone. Some people are just looking at the recession through rose colored glasses, because they haven't lost their jobs yet and don't know what it is about yet. But, that is the last thing they should be doing. Because, they could be the next one to lose their job and have the rug ripped beneath their feet. My point is, know what your talking about before you go shooting off at the mouth about people you know nothing about.

  3. well said Mrs.E
People should be more sensitive with everything that happens around them.
Hope the recession ends soon. At where I live we call it krismon or krisis moneter/ monetary crisis. This time the global monetary crisis doesn't give too much effect tho as we don't export much so the economy runs but here we all still and will always fighting against corruption.

  5. I agree with you. Some people have no idea what it's like to really struggle. To not know if you're going to be in your own house much longer, to wonder how you're going to pay your next bill. While I would never wish that situation on someone, I think if more people had a taste of what it was really like, I think people would be less apt to make hurtful and ignorant comments. I found you because you followed my blog frog community. I followed yours back and I"m following your blog now too. Thanks

  7. Wow, someone from the Downriver area. That's the first time I have run across someone from the Downriver area. Thanks for all the comments and reading my blog. I am stunned about all the crap they say too. Well, there is a thin line between sitting behind a computer and hiding behind a computer.

  8. Wow, what a poweful post! I do think Americans need to wake up to vast consumerism and the downfall of society in addition to economic crisis. I live in a country of true excess, and within this same country there are stark realities of poverty so gripping it makes you cry. Most Americans that write stupid comments really don't know what it is like to work full time, month in and month out and make less than $200 a month. Most people here believe "That's a lot in their countries!" and don't realize that these people aren't IN their own countries. I would love to have those stupid commenters come over here and take them to the camps and let them see how people live. Maybe they'd think twice about needing that upgrade?

  9. Thank you, I feel really strongly about the recession. Nobody seems to want to look at what is really going on in the US. The politicians and media try to soften the blow of the reality of the recession. By saying things like the umployment compensation rates are down. Making it appear as they are down, because people are going back to work. When the truth of the matter is they are down because people are running out of benefits. But, that doesn't mean they are back to work. Michigan was hit really hard by the recession and we aren't recovering yet, the same as many other states in the US. I see all the houses in my neighborhood up for foreclosure and it really saddens me. It makes me wonder if we are next. It's the sad truth. Families up here are living in homes with no heat and struggling just to feed their children. This is the United States now. I just think people should walk out of their bubble once in while and take a look around them.
