17 Year Old Shot And Killed For Walking Down The Street

On February 26,2012 Trayvon Martin of Sanford FL, was shot and killed as he walked to a family member's home from a convenience store where he had just bought some candy. Trayvon was only 17 years-old.

George Zimmerman the community's self appointed neighborhood watch leader admitted to the police that he shot Trayvon in the chest, he had called police to report a suspicious person. The police told Zimmerman not to confront him, but he did it anyway. Then Zimmerman shot and killed unarmed 17 year old Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman has not been arrested for the crime and the police has even gone as far to make a public statement supporting Zimmerman saying, he's "a college grad" who took a class in criminal justice.

Three witnesses contacted by The Miami Herald say they saw or heard the moments before and after the Miami Gardens teenager’s killing. All three said they heard the last cry for help from a boy, and believe the sequence of sounds shatters the notion that Trayvon was killed in self defense. Mary Cutcher a witness says "Blew us off, and I called him back again and I said, "I know this was not self-defense. There was no punching, no hitting going on at the time, no wrestling,'" Cutcher said. Trayvon's family says, he was their hero pulling his father from a burning kitchen, he loved sports and horseback riding.

Tracy Martin, the father says, "It's a shame that he's [Trayvon] not getting any justice. We're not, as a family, getting any closure," the elder Martin said. "I feel betrayed by the Sanford Police Department and there's no way that I can still trust them in investigating this crime."

The case has now been turned over to the State's Attorney Office, who will make the decision on whether or not to charge George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Trayvon Martin's family is asking that as many people as possible sign the petition to prosecute George Zimmerman in the death of their son.

Legal Issues With Pinterest

Some Pinterest users may be faced with legal issues pinning photos and recipes to their Pinterest page. When you pin photos or recipes, you are agreeing that you own these photos or recipes and have the right to post them online or you have the permission of the owner.

Attorneys are now saying Pinterest users could be asking for trouble unless they own the photos, links, recipes and so on they are pinning or re-pinning.

"At the moment, there is very little that can be done to avoid infringing copyright if you are a Pinterest user," she says. "The only way to pin pictures without violating the site's terms of service and the picture owner's copyright is to only pin pictures that you've taken yourself."

Bruce Johnson, an attorney with Davis Wright Tremaine, agrees: "The website may have DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) protections for user-generated content. The users don't and could be exposing themselves to a significant legal risk."

Another problem users are facing are you release your rights to the photos you pin.

"According to the Pinterest terms of service, you release all rights you have in a picture once you pin it," she says.
Specifically, here's what the terms say:
"By making available any Member Content through the Site, Application or Services, you hereby grant to Cold Brew Labs a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free license, with the right to sublicense, to use, copy, adapt, modify, distribute, license, sell, transfer, publicly display, publicly perform, transmit, stream, broadcast, access, view, and otherwise exploit such Member Content only on, through or by means of the Site, Application or Services."
When you pin or re-pin an item you are breaking the law. Pinning without permission is violating copyright infringements.

Facebook Lands Man Up On Charges

A friend of friend exposes a corrections officer who is now facing bigamy charges. Washington authorities say, a man using Facebook found that that she and a potential "friend" were married to him at the same time to the same man.

According to the documents discovered  Alan L. O'Neill, had married a women in 2001 and moved out in 2009. O'Neill had changed his name and remarried without divorcing the other woman.

Wife number 1 had noticed on her Facebook page had recommended her as people you may know, wife number 1 went to wife number's 2 page she had noticed a picture of wife number 2 with her husband. The man in the photo was also her husband. Wife number 1 then calls the O'Neil's mother and within an hour later, wife number 2 shows up on her door step saying, she had asked him several times if he was divorced.

O'Neil went to wife number one and asked her not to report him to authorities, that he would do everything possible to fix the situation. However, wife number 1 went to the authorities anyway.

That should be used as example of what exposing your whole life on Facebook will get you when you have a bitter ex and a Facebook or many other posts you may think are simple can land you in  a lot of hot water. Some people will never learn about posting their whole life on Facebook.

Winter Blues

Every year at the end of winter, I find it hard to break out of those winter blues. Even though the weather is getting nicer finally, I am finding it hard to get motivated to do anything. I spend the winter sitting in the house catching up on television shows. I dread even going outside or even going anywhere in the winter. Then when the weather gets nicer, I find it hard to break the cycle until I can start opening the windows and getting fresh air in the house.

I absolutely hate winter. Winter just drains me and I feel drained and sleepy all the time. I have tried exercising and taking walks to break the cycle. I just end up back on the couch flipping through the channels trying to find something to watch to occupy my time. Blogging even becomes a difficult task by the end of winter. I just sit there staring at a blank screen trying to come up with something to write about.
