Eventful Holiday

I'm back, I took a short little break over the Easter Holiday to spend time with the family and my parents who came up for a visit from North Carolina.

We had a nice visit. We went to an antique mall. The kids really enjoyed the antique mall, seeing all the different  things from the past. Sammy was intrigued by the old rotary telephones. The first one she saw, she asked us "How do you use this phone?" Which was funny, you don't think about the old phones and people who have never seen a rotary phone have no idea how to work them. She went through the mall looking at the old dresses and on a scout for every old phone she could find. Adam was interested in all the old coke products memorabilia and the old police uniforms and weapons.

The kids got to go fishing with Grandpa and had a great time. Sammy lost a big fish and Adam caught one fish and threw it back in.

We had a very nice dinner with my family and my husbands mom. We all talked and laughed and had a great time. You have to love those holiday family dinners.

We took our parents out to dinner for their anniversary to the Bahama Breeze restaurant and had an excellent family dinner. It's a fun restaurant to go to with the live music and the Caribbean atmosphere and food.

My parents brought their little Maltese , so even Max (the dog) had a great time. He loves playing with the little dog. They are hilarious together because she is so little and he is so big. He lays on the floor and allows her to crawl all over him. She is mischievous, so the two became partners in crime. Max opened the refrigerator door and was eating the ham with little Lexi standing by watching. I wish I could have caught it camera. We have no idea how he opened the refrigerator door. We were all sitting in the living room watching t.v. when we heard a crash in the kitchen and there was Max with the plate of ham on the floor. Then later, he opened the lid on the trash can and got out a piece of foil with food on it and a paper plate for Lexi. He dropped a plate on the floor in front of her and he went under the table with the foil. They played tag in the backyard, the funny thing was he couldn't catch her.

Between the kids and dogs, we laughed a lot and had a great time.

NY Man Bit Off Bar Workers Finger

38-year-old Ernest Vannier of Fort Ann, NY was tossed out of the Daily Double bar in Glen Falls, NY early Sunday morning when he was caught engaging in a sexual act with a woman in the smoking room.

When the bar employee  tried escorting him out of the bar, he bit off the employee's pinkie finger.  He bit into the employee's finger and severed it completely from his hand. Glen Falls hospital reattached the employees finger.

Vannier was charged with second-degree assault, which carries a maximum of a seven year sentence.

Arachnophobia

I have what is called an arachnophobia, a serious fear of spiders. I have been bitten by spiders in the past and had serious reactions to spider bites that has sent me to the emergency room. Spiders just completely creep me out. Spiders and me can not reside in the same household, the little creepy creatures must go! They are small and sneaky, you can't hear them coming and most time you don't even see them. The creatures are among the most deadliest creatures on the planet. The thing about spiders is there are so many of them. It is more common to find a spider in your house than a ant. You can bomb your house and put stuff out to keep them away, but you will always find another spider. Maybe not as many, but you will find a spider creeping down the wall or across the floor that has crawled in through the cracks of a door or an open window.

The funny thing about it is the first time I was bitten by a spider, I was sleeping. I woke up with my eye looking like someone had socked me in the eye and my face was swollen. Ever since then, I sleep further down on the bed, making sure I don't get too close to the wall giving them easy access to me and I always get this creepy itching feeling whenever I first get into bed like something is crawling on me. I am almost afraid of rubbing where it itches, fearing if I rub it and it's a spider it will bite me from the movement.

The second time was recently when I was cleaning the basement rafters and windows. Something what looked like a spider bite, bit me on the back of my leg and hadn't noticed something bit me until I took a shower. It swelled up huge and developed a sore where the bite was. I didn't even realize something had bit me because I was itching all over from cleaning out the rafters and windows. I have allergies to dust, so I assumed I was itching from the dust.

You don't see a picture posted, because it would creep me out to have an image of spider stuck in my head. It would just be self torture.

Mommy Overload

Sometimes I think being a stay at home Mom is more stressful than working. The morning starts with trying to get the kids out of bed on time and mediating between the two kids who are at each other's throats every waking moment they cross paths through out the day. My children and dog are driving me up the wall. It has become so difficult to get everyone ready for school and out the door on time to get them to school and the dog has been having more anxiety issues than normal lately. This morning my son refused to get out of bed because I turned the light on. I turned the light on because he wasn't getting up and I told him, if he doesn't get up I am going to turn the light on. The funny thing is they have no clue why we get upset with them when we are repeatedly telling them to get out of bed, then we are rushing them to get ready and then driving fast to get them to school on time so I don't have to go in and sign him in for being late to school. I am half tempted to get a glass of water and dump it on him, because I'm tired of repeated telling him from 6:30 to 7:00 everyday to get out of the bed. He is 12 years old and goes to bed at 9:30, there is no reason why he can not get up in the morning. Even when I put him in bed 8:30 for misbehaving, he still doesn't get up on time.

I have no clue what a pampered dog can have anxiety issues over. He is stressing me out with his anxiety issues. He pulls his hair out and chews himself whenever I leave him. This morning when taking my son to school he pulled his hair out, because I wouldn't take him with me when I left. All week my son has been running late and I didn't have the time to take the dog with me to drop him off. When I came back from dropping him off at school, the dog had a pile of hair around him where he pulled the hair out of his legs for not taking him. He is on anxiety medication because he does this all the time when I leave him or when the kids leave him. I have to keep him in the same room with me all day to watch him. I would hate to do it, but if he doesn't stop soon I am going to have to get rid of him because he is killing us financially running him to the vet every couple of months. This month I couldn't go the doctor myself  to get my medication refilled because I had to take him to the vet for ear infections. He also digs his ears when he gets mad. Then he leaves scratches and they get infected and I end up taking him to the vet every 2 or 3 months for ear infections and his anxiety problems.

Today is one of those days where I just want to go back to bed and give up on today.
