A Few Words Banned In 2012

Amazing
Ginormous
Baby Bump
Man Cave
Thanks In Advance

If they are no longer allowed to say man cave, is it going to be Papas Den?

A few words or phrases I think should be banned.

Epic (anything) - I hate that word. It is EXTREMELY over used by kids.
Are you serious?
Ahhh.... Cool - That phrase should have been left in the 80's.
Idiot- What's with kids over using the word idiot?
Awesome- People get offended if you say they are anything less than awesome.
Ditto- How did Ditto come back?
Boss- Not in reference to your boss. In reference to kids saying "That's so boss!" or "I'm so boss!"

Feel free to add to the list.

2011 Real People In Review

Now that we covered the celebrities and in the news reviews, I thought I would now cover the Real People 2011 Review. As we are watching television just before New Year's Day, we get slammed with the celebrity stars year in review, greatest sports moments and so on. But, they never mention what happened to the average every day person. I will start with the bad and finish with the good. What about?

How Eddie and Jan's house was
foreclosed on last month.

How many homeless families and people
there are in the United States now.

Or how Frank next door lost his job last week.

And his wife lost her job 2 years ago
and they had to file for bankruptcy.

Johny had his car repossessed after his....

unemployment benefits were cut.

Cousin Sally's school got shut down.

Police officers were cut from the force. So, the next time you call
911 when someone is breaking into your house,
they may not have one available and your wife will have
to drive you to the hospital after you've just been shot!

Urrrrrrrr....

That may not be interesting enough.

But, I'm going to tell you anyway. Because, we want to know when....

When Maggie turns six.

That Jimmy returns home to his family in time for
Christmas.

Nick and Alison just got married and
still believe in the American Dream and.....

a year later they gave birth to triplets. Then....

Alison's little brother recovered from cancer.

And many more sad and happy stories of the everyday Americans people. But, we watch them. We kick back on our sofa watching TMZ and show after show of celebrities year in review or sports in review. By far I am not making fun at all the happy and sad moments in the lives of the everyday American. I am poking fun at all those who don't believe we are important enough to talk about.

Finally, the Notorious Bin Laden was killed! So, we think.

He's kind of like the soap opera character that keeps
coming back to life.

Charlie Sheen while thinking about losing his job and custody of his children and wondering why.

JLo falls right on her Hollywood rear end while performing live and blames
it on the dancers sweaty backs. Yes, stars have
their awkward moments too.

Snookie gets arrested.

Detroit's Ex-Mayor Playboy sitting in court again.

Lady Gaga's Most outlandish entrance of 2011.

Ahhh.... let's not forget the Royal Wedding and it's hats.

My Awful Customer Service Experience With T-Mobile

I thought I would share my most recent run in with call centers overseas. Christmas Eve I called T-Mobile to do some changes on my account. Well of course, someone I could barely understand and who could barely understand me answered the phone. It took me three phone calls and an hour later to accomplish what I needed done on my account. The people on the other end kept putting me on hold and disconnecting me and had no idea what they were doing. Not only did they have no idea what they were doing, they were having a hard time understanding me, like I was speaking a foreign language to them.

Finally on the third call, what I asked for was completed. So, I asked for a supervisor to complain about how the phone calls were conducted. After a few minutes, the girl comes back to the phone to tell me they don't have a supervisor available. I was expecting that one, they never seem to have supervisors available in those overseas call centers. So, I asked to be transferred to the corporate office in the United States. They did transfer me amazingly without disconnecting me this time and I complained about the awful customer service I received.

It really irritates me when I am calling customer service and it is such a struggle to understand the person on the other end and they have a difficult time understanding you. It makes you feel like your business means nothing to them, because saving money means more to them than your experience with their company. Every since all these big companies have started sending their call centers overseas, customer service has gone straight down the tubes. Not to mention, the thousands of people who have been put out of a job so these companies can send their call centers overseas to pay their employees and $1 an hour. Our American dollars are being spent to employ thousands of people overseas and possibly even millions of people overseas, while the American people are sitting here losing everything they own. Lets not forget customer service has gone straight down the tubes. There is no such thing as a valued customer anymore. They just want your money, they don't care if we are satisfied with our customer service experience.

It is no wonder, so many companies have security breeches and our personal information is hacked. These countries they are using and sharing our personal information with doesn't have the ability to pay for the same software as the United States or take the same security measures as a customer service call center in the United States would take.

I am asking that anytime, someone reaches an overseas call center complain and complain loudly. This isn't going to stop until we complain about it. Voice your opinion, you have that right. Write about it, do whatever it takes to get your voice heard. As a mommy blogger, you have the ability to reach thousands of people with your blog, your twitter, facebook, and all your different blogging communities and groups you belong to. Use the resources you have available and demand change.

Nativity Scene Battle???

In the city of Warren, Michigan there is a dispute about an equal display of time. There's a man who is arguing that displaying a nativity scene in front of a city building is a violation of the separation of church and state. The man is an atheist and wishes to display his own sign that reads:

He placed the sign directly next to the nativity scene in front of City Hall. The mayor forced the man to remove the sign, because he does not have the permission of the city to display the sign on public property. Because he was forced to remove the sign after several attempts to get permission from the Mayor to display the sign, him and the group "Freedom From Religion" plan on suing the city for not allowing him to display his sign.

In my opinion, I find his sign intrusive and a mere attempt to force his views on others. He can choose not to believe in God. However, that doesn't give him the right to challenge the beliefs of others in a public forum. I personally would not want my child to walk past the sign and read the sign.

Celebrating Christmas is a tradition that has gone on in the United States for many many years. I am a little tired of other groups thinking they have the right to stomp on the rights of Christians. However, there religious rights should be protected. For example, a christian child is not permitted to say a prayer in school or bring a bible to school. But, if you walk into the office during Ramadan, you will find Muslim children spending their lunches in the office, because they are fasting or young girls wearing scarves to cover their hair. The schools respect their rights as Muslims and allow them to sit in the office during Ramadan instead of the cafeteria like the rest of the children, but our own christian children are not allowed to practice religion during school hours. The religious rights of other cultures are groups are respected in schools, except for the religious rights of christian children.

It really irritates me that our own children can longer say the pledge of allegiance in schools anymore, because it may offend someone. National Anthems are being banned at sporting events, because of the wording. How do children learn to have pride in their own country if they don't know the pledge of allegiance or hear the national anthem? Where does it stop?

Now, atheists want to take our right to display just about anything that symbolizes Christianity. Atheists may believe "Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds", but religion gives people hope for a better world and a moral foundation to rest their hearts on.

Everyone has the right to believe what they wish to believe. But, it is time to stop stomping on Christians and Christianity. Let us enjoy something without it being dragged through the court system and the mud. If you don't agree with the nativity scene, keep walking and find better things to do than wasting our tax dollars over a nativity scene dispute.

US Soldiers Coming Home From Iraq

It was nice to hear the US soldiers will be pulling out of Iraq. We have lost enough of our good men and women to a country that doesn't want us there. After a nine year battle with Islam's Extremists, it's time to throw in the towel and let our men and women come home. After visiting Iraq in 2003, my heart goes out to the men and women who have spent years in the country. As you drive around the country you can see the buildings and homes that have been destroyed by war and the dirt stings your eyes from all the bombings. I worry about all the cancers and health problems the soldiers will have once they return home and the PTSS, the soldiers will have to face when they return to their homeland.

The country has lived at war since it's existence and will continue to live at war with one another. Our American Soldiers occupying the country isn't going to change that. War is a way of life for the Iraqi people. The United States can not change what is in the Iraqi peoples hearts and minds and our country is in an economic struggle of it's own and can not afford to continue to pay for the war in Iraq. The United States didn't learn their lesson in Vietnam or Afghanistan. What makes our government think Iraq would be any different? Afghanistan hasn't changed, their political activity is hidden better. Yes, I feel somewhat sorry for some of the Iraqi people who have fallen victims to their political system. But, the United States can't help everyone.

We are in a country that doesn't want us there. As an American visiting the country, you have to disguise you are an American or risk being killed. Sure, a few select Iraqi people want us there, but there are too many that despise our existence in their country and don't want us there. Therefore, it is best to leave them to their own fate. Islamic Jihad is a way of life in Iraq, just as it is in many of the Middle Eastern countries. You can't change a country that has been brain washed by it's religion and culture. It is a waste of time to even try and change their way of life or the way they think.

I wish all the American soldiers and very Merry Christmas and pray for the their safe return to their families. This will be one of the best Christmas's ever to have their loved ones home for the holidays.

US Air Force Dump Soldiers Remains In A Landfill

When I read the story about The United States Air Force dumped the ashes and remains of 274 soldiers in the a Virginia landfill, I was totally outraged. How could they do that to American Soldiers who fought for our country and gave their lives for our freedom, not just our freedom their freedom? The Air Force used the Virginia landfill to dump bodies between 2004 and 2008. The Air Force do not plan on notifying the families who's remains lay in a landfill. Of course, they do not plan on notifying the families of their idiotic decision to disrespectfully dump the remains of their loved ones in a landfill.

What is this a third world country we live in now? That sounds like something Saddam Hussein would do and our own American Government dumped remains in a landfill. Your not even allowed to dispose of an animal that way and they did it to the American men and women who served our country. It is completely horrifying to know our own country disposed of honorable military veterans in a landfill.

Woman Talks About Her 13 Year Affair With Cain

Whenever someone is running for President all the skeletons come out of the closet. Cain should have known they would. A woman speaks with CNN about her 13 year affair she had with Cain. What does she have to gain about coming forward with her affair? A whole lot and Cain should have known the affair was going to come out and I am sure he did. But, he is like the rest of the politicians, deny the truth. I am sure after a 13 year affair with Cain, she is bitter when he ended the affair eight months ago when he decided to run for President. It was a 13 year affair, I am sure White had developed deep feelings for Cain. White is single mother who has a trail of financial hardship behind her and my guess is she is looking at this as a way out of her financial hardship. She will get paid to do interviews and I am sure her telephone is ringing off the hook with reporters trying to get the story about the Presidential hopeful;s 13 year affair.

In White's interview with CNN, she showed them phone logs of phone calls and text messages with Cain from the past two years. My problem with women like this is they don't have a problem with wrecking someone Else's marriage and when they come out with their story, they don't stop and think what it will do to his marriage or to his children when the affair comes out. Her sugar daddy dropped her and now she is bitter there will be no more financial assistance and fancy trips from Cain, so she will find another way for the money to come in. Men will never learn that they should never trust a woman who is willing to have an affair with a married man, they have no morals. If they are willing to take a chance on tearing apart a marriage, they will stop at nothing to get what they want and that includes tearing you down publicly if they think they will profit from it.

I never will understand women who have affairs with married men. There are plenty of single men out there they can latch on to. Why pick a married man? If he hasn't left his wife after 13 years, he's not going to. The live in this delusional world, that if they ruin their marriage he will come running to them. When in reality, he is going to be really angry with you for outing them and making their life miserable. The men are to blame just as much as the women who have affairs with married men.

Cain knew he had too many skeletons in his closet to run for President, he should have declined the opportunity to run. But, he had stars in his eyes of being the President of the United States. They all see those stars and think no one will believe the women and they have a big head thinking it won't happen to them. Well, it did. They talked and they will continue to talk to anyone who will listen.

Mom Defends Daughter’s Right To Wear Racist Shirt To School

According to the Times of Trenton (via Gothamist), 14-year-old Torri Albrecht wore asweatshirt with the Confederate Flag to Melvin H. Kreps Middle School on Nov. 7. School officials asked her to take off the sweatshirt, telling her the teachers had complained. The school says Albrecht was "disrespectful in her refusal to take it off," so they suspended her. Her mom, Jane West, disputes this, saying that the assistant principal lied to her about exactly how many teachers were upset about the shirt. She explains,

"The bottom line is there's no proof that anyone complained about the sweat shirt or that my daughter was disrespectful about taking it off. The only thing I have proof of is that (assistant principal Jermaine Blount) lied to me."

West says, the shirt is just an expression of her southern pride and heritage and she is going to sue the school if the school does not apologize and rescind the suspension. West feels she has the right to show her Virginia pride should trump students and staff attending school without the reminder of mass subjugation being thrown in their faces. She may say the sweatshirt is an expression of her southern pride and heritage, but I think she really knows the purpose of wearing the sweatshirt. There are many ways she can express her pride in her southern heritage without allowing her daughter to wear a sweatshirt to school with the Confederate Flag on it.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters

For the last two days on the news, there has been a buzz about how all the ugly Christmas Sweaters are running out of stock everywhere. Now I know people are losing their minds. Those unsightly Christmas sweaters were a dreaded present and now people are going crazy looking for them? Why? We didn't like them then, why is some people going crazy trying to find those old Christmas sweaters? Reminiscing is fun, but not fun enough to go on a massive search for one those dreaded sweaters and actually step out of the house wearing one. Then five years from now, people will be trying to throw away all those pictures of them in those unsightly Christmas sweaters.

But, then again I usually sway from the norm. I have never even been shopping on Black Friday and refuse to subject myself to the torture of standing in line for hours to get in the store, get run over in the stores and then stand in line again to check out. No thank you, I will stay snuggled warmly in my bed while thousands of people are standing in line at the stores exhausted and their feet killing them. I will stick to the original Christmas traditions of decorating, baking cookies and putting smiles on my children's faces as they unwrap their gifts under the tree.

DPD Stage A Sickout on Friday

A handful of Detroit Police staged a sickout on Friday in response to Mayor Dave Bing calling for a 10% pay cut. Resources were called in to cover their shifts, the last thing we need is less police on the City of Detroit's streets. I'm not sure if staging a sickout is the best thing to do when people's lives are in their hands and depends on the police showing up to a call, but it is terrible how the Mayor wants to give them a 10% pay cut. Police officers work very hard and put their lives on the line for very little money as it is. You don't see politicians proposing a pay cut for themselves. Instead of what you see is so many politicians have been ripping off the tax payers and steeling money from them.

The city of Detroit is rated in the "Top Ten Most Dangerous Cities To Live In", Mayor Dave Bing should be cutting into the pay of politicians, instead of city workers which the city so desperately needs. We should be adding police officers, not cutting their pay. After all, they risk their lives everyday to protect and serve us. The politicians fly around in private jets, throwing big parties and living life as though there is no recession. It makes more sense to me to give a 10% pay cut to all city and state politicians. Politicians make more money than city workers and would give more money to the budget. 10% of $100,000 a year is %10,000 per politician or more, whereas most police officers are lucky if they make $40,000 a year, which only comes out to around $4,000 a year per worker. Do the math. Which makes more sense to you. But, then again it comes down to the politicians want to cut everyone elses' pay, but their own pay.

Bringing The Love Back

Every year in November, I dedicate the whole month of November on my Do You Really Want To Know? or the The Comfort Zone blogs to tips on bringing the love back in your relationship. This year I decided to condense it into one post, since I have been so busy with my website, I haven't had as much time as I like to dedicate to blogging.

The odds are stacked against us a married couple. The divorce rate in America is 50%, so what that boils down to is we have a 50/50 chance of getting divorced. It it is up to us as married couples to change that. We are the only ones who can change the outcome of our marriage.

The two main reasons couples get divorced are infidelity or money. Why are so many people cheating? There is a very simple answer to that question, people cheat either because, that is how they are wired or because they are not satisfied sexually or emotionally in their marriage.

We have to learn that we need to play a responsible role in our relationships. Talk to your partner, not at your partner. There is a difference in how you approach a topic with them and how they will respond to you. Your partners are not children and they should not be talked to that way. Instead of making accusations and mean comments, talk to them and tell them how the problem area makes you feel.

1. Never call them names or insult them alone or in front of others.
2. Don't discuss a problem if your angry. Walk away and calm down before you discuss a problem.
3. Don't make ultimatums you don't mean and that do not warrant the situation.
4. Talk to them, not at them.
5. Pick your battles wisely, not all battles are worth fighting.
6. Approach the situation with a resolution rather than focusing on what they are doing wrong.
7. Never go to bed angry, try to work out the problem before going to bed.
8. Always discuss the problem in private. Never air your dirty laundry in front of your children, friends, family, or a public area. There is a place and time for everything.
9. Remember, we are all humans and humans make mistakes. That is what makes us human or we would be machines.
10. Actually listen to what your partner is saying. You may figure out that you both are saying the same thing differently.
11. If you don't feel like you can get your point across to your partner, seek marriage counseling. It will do wonders for your relationship. There is no shame in seeking marriage counseling.
12. The big question. Would you rather get a divorce than to put your pride aside? Ask yourself that question, because if you don't the answer may be made for you.

The money problem can always be worked out together. You are given what you are given and there is no sense in blaming your partner for the money problem. If your partner is making bad money decisions, try making a budget together, so they can see what your financial situation is and what fits in to your budget and what doesn't fit into your budget. They may understand the problem, if they can see the big picture. But, talk to your partner as an equal and as an adult. Afterall, they are one, so treat them as one.

Infidelity is one of the biggest problems in a marriage. If you don't want your partner to look elsewhere for for physical and emotional support, then don't give them a reason to look elsewhere. Then if they do, then they are the ones at fault. Marriage and relationships are kind of like a bridge, if the bridge doesn't have the support it needs to hold weight of everything that passes over the bridge, it will collapse the same as your marriage or relationship.

When the newness of the marriage fades away, we forget the reasons we married our partner in the first place. Always celebrate your anniversary. You do not have to spend money to celebrate your anniversary. Put the children in bed, light some candles and try starting off by giving each other massages and take it from there. When women become mothers, it's like we forget how to be a woman again and men forget how to treat us like women. Before you were a mother, you were a woman. Don't forget that, it is crucial to your marriage.

Why is sex such a taboo topic once you have children? You had to have sex to create your children. Sex wasn't a chore when you first got married or was making children. Why is it a chore now or a taboo topic now? When you leave the sex behind in your marriage, you are giving your partner an open excuse to cheat on you. You can not expect someone to live without that connection with another person. Don't expect your partner to live without sex, just because they married you and expect them to remain faithful to you when you won't give in or make them intimidated to approach you sexually. Your partner should never feel neglected sexually. Sex is not taboo or dirty. Sex is how you were created and how your children were created. We would not exist as a human race if it wasn't for sex. Just because you are done having children, doesn't mean you are done having sex.

1. Stop using headaches as a reason to not have sex. Sex will actually give you relief for your headache or aches and pains. Use a headache just as a reason to have sex with your partner. You will be surprised how much sex can relieve stress.
2. If your partner isn't getting what you like in the bedroom respectfully guide them to what you do like. Try letting them know when they are doing something right, so they can figure out what you do like or try telling them something like "how about you do this baby? That really turns me on when you do that.
3. Never go more than a week without sex in your relationship. Do you really want your partner turned by someone else outside of your home?
4. Initiate sex, never leave it up to your partner to always be the one to initiate sex.
5. Buy some sexy lingerie or massage oil. Have fun with it. Lingerie can actually boost your self confidence in your appearance. Pick out lingerie that hides those parts of your body you are uncomfortable with. Lingerie is not sleazy or dirty. It was designed to make you feel like a woman and enhance your sex life.
6. Don't worry about your body. Men know women's bodies change after having children. They love you more for having their children. Believe me, they are not looking at those parts of your body. They are focusing on your breasts or your behind. Your behind always looks better bent over. Most likely their bodies have changed too since marriage and age. Men love older women. Most men with children do not want a young woman. They want a woman who is attainable and does not remind them of their children. Have you ever heard the term "MILF"? Well, it's true they want you. I know, I am not real crazy about the term either, but that is how men think.

This is a very lengthy post and I hope you have managed to stay with me to reach the end. I really dislike how so many marriages in the United States fall apart and our children are left with the broken homes and trying their best to live with their parents divorce. Marriage is one of the hardest challenges you will ever face in your lifetime. It is not the fairytale we all think it is going to be. Your success and happiness in your marriage falls in your hands and your partner's hands. You and your partner are the only ones who can control the fate of your marriage. Don't be stubborn, put your pride aside and work on your marriage. You are most likely more right for your partner than you think. Unless there is physical or mental abuse involved in your marriage, it is most likely worth saving. You fell in love with your partner for a reason, you just need to remember why and work at your marriage.

If you read back in my posts from Do You Really Want To Know? or the The Comfort Zone you will find various tips on bringing the love back in your marriage. I decided a couple of years ago to start dedicating the month of November to bringing the love back in your marriage for a couple of reasons. One, I am on my third marriage, it has taken me this long to figure out where I was going wrong. Don't let that be you. The funny thing is, I actually have two degrees in psychology and I didn't put those degrees to work in my own relationships until my third marriage started falling apart and decided to seek marriage counseling to help solve our problems. We found we were both making silly mistakes and most of our problems were not actually problems. We were not actively listening to one another and we were both saying the same thing. Second, we get so busy around the holidays trying to make it fun for our children we spend the next two months focusing on Christmas and by New Years, our relationships are drained. Third, the funny thing happened once I opened a lingerie web store, some people stopped following me and I noticed it was all women. I thought to myself "Why do some women think it is so dirty or such a taboo to sell lingerie?" Lingerie is an essential tool in getting and keeping your partner's interest.

The most important information to take from this post is to treat your partner like an adult, actively listen to what they are saying, talk to them not at them, never use name calling or insults in arguments, talk to each other about how your feeling and find a solution everyone will be happy with, and keep your partner's interest in you physically and emotionally. Most importantly, play an active role in your relationship. It takes two people to make it work. Don't put the responsibility on one person's shoulders. Give them the respect and trust they deserve.

Happy Veterans Day!

They Did Their Share
On Veteran’s Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it’s been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn’t.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;
Don’t let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can’t repay.

We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let’s say "thank you" to every wearer.

Penn State Coach Molests Young Boys

This is a crazy world we live in. When I heard about the ex-Penn State coach, Jerry Sandusky, 67 years old was arrested Saturday for sexually assaulting 8 boys, I was outraged to find out that someone had walked in on him having sex with a 10 year old boy in the locker room and the person who walked in reported it to his higher up, but no one called the police. I don't care who the person is, if you walk in on a grown man molesting a child you stop it and call the police. Everyone involved in hiding Sandusky a known pedophile on campus should be fired from the their jobs and charged as accessories to a crime. Anyone else would be charged as accessories to a crime if they walked in on someone sexually assaulting a minor, so why shouldn't they be charged too. It totally amazes me that all those people who knew what he was doing turned the other cheek and and allowed him to molest children. They knowingly allowed him the ruin the lives of children. I don't know how they sleep at night knowing what they did. In my eyes they are just as bad as him. The very second someone found out about what he was doing he should have been reported him to the police.

Having a known pedophile on campus is against the law. Hundreds of children come to college campuses every summer for summer camps. The man should have not been allowed to get away with what he was doing for so many years. I am sure 8 children is just the tip of the iceberg, more will come forward to tell their stories now that it is out. Only God knows how many young boys has been molested by Sandusky and have had their lives ruined because someone failed to protect them. Curley and Shultz hid his dirty little secret and now they are going down with him and I am sure more will fall with them.

12 Year Old Girl Who Was Impregnated At 11 Testifies In Court Today

A 12 year old girl from Clinton Township, MI testified against 28-year-old Trevaun Cortez Brooks who impregnated her when she was 11 years old. Trevaun Cortez was the boyfriend of her mother. The girl says she didn't know she was pregnant until she went to the hospital to have the baby in August. She testified in court today that Brooks came into her bedroom on three occasions and had sex with her. DNA tests have been done on Brooks and the baby to prove paternity. Brooks also worked as a janitor at the same school the girl attended. Brooks is being charged with felony counts of criminal sexual conduct and is looking at facing life in prison.

Cases like these always amaze me. How does a mother not notice her child's body is changing? Most girls around 11 years old have their periods. She didn't notice her daughter wasn't having periods? I have two daughters and I keep track of their periouds. I feel sorry for the girl she is now 12 years old and has had a child already and molested by her mother's boyfriend.

Wow, What A Month

I'm still here. Finding time for blogging has been a little difficult for me this month, starting with Halloween. We get busy with decorating for Halloween, getting the kids ready for Halloween and our yearly Halloween Party we go to. Then that throws straight into November with birthdays and the holidays. By some unusual chance all three of our children were born in November. My son on the 9th, my youngest daughter on the 29th, my oldest daughter on the 30th, my sister on the 26th and my mother-in-law on the 4th. November is full of Birthdays. So, a big shout out to my other mom, Happy Birthday Kat! We love you!

December is pretty much the same. There is my mom on the 2nd, my dad on the 6th and my husband on the 17th. Then Christmas follows. Plus, I have been working on my website non-stop trying to get it ready for Christmas. There just doesn't seem to be enough time in the days lately.

Kidneys For Sale

An Israeli citizen living in Brooklyn, NY admitted to brokering three illegal kidney transplants for $120,000 each. The FBI caught him when he was trying to organize another black market kidney sale.

“Rosenbaum admitted he was not new to the human kidney business when he was caught brokering what he thought was a black market deal,” U.S. Attorney Fishman said. “A black market in human organs is not only a grave threat to public health, it reserves lifesaving treatment for those who can best afford it at the expense of those who cannot. We will not tolerate such an affront to human dignity.”

It is amazing to me what people will do for money. That's terrible to take advantage of those who are in need of an organ to survive. People are laying on their death beds praying they will get a kidney in time and Rosenbaum and people like him are skipping right over the ones who are next in line and going to the one who has the money to pay them to get a kidney.

When I sit and watch the news or read the news I am in shock sometimes what this world has come to. Funny thing about so much of what goes on, you don't see some of this stuff on the news and it makes you wonder why. Does our government not want the American people to know what has become of this country? The United States has become a place that has gone crazy. People will do anything for money and the value of life means very little. Now, you hear about all the crazy stuff going on with the Occupy Wall Street, a war hero was severely injured right here in the United States during a protest by a police officer. He survived the war, to come home and be practically killed by the police in his own country. You don't even see our government doing too much to improve the situation either. We have become a country were the sex slave trade industry and drug trade has become the most profitable business in the entire United States. The government has lost control of the country. You want to think it can only get better from here, but it only seems to be getting worse from here. This is the world our children are growing up in, I am scared to think what it will be for them when they reach adulthood and shutter to think what it will be for their children when they have children.

CraigsList Crook

It is not surprising someone else is using CraigsList to rob someone. Craigslist has become a problem on the net. People use CraigsList to rob peoples homes, steel their belongings, murder, to rob people, and let's not forget prostitution. I don't know how CraigsList can still be up and operating at this point with all the bad press CraigsList gets.

A Garden City single mother decided to sell her wedding rings on CraigsList for money. She had to make the choice between saving the rings for her girls when grow up or paying the bills to support her children. She took all the safety measures to ensure her safety during the transaction and the crooks stole the rings right out of her lap.

A lot of people are turning to CraigsList to sell items for quick cash in these poor economic times and things are getting scary. CraigsList is also widely used to seek work. A lot of employers are turning to CraigsList to advertise employment, because they can get a free listing. Where as a lot of job boards are now charging to place ads for employment. It's a scary place out there in this world now. Last summer I applied for a job off of CraigsList like I had many previous times. I went for the interview where the man said it would be and no one knew who the man was and had never heard of him. He even called back with some lame excuse that the employee was new and didn't know who he was and tried to get me to come back, even though she was standing there with another employee and asked the other employees standing there, if they knew who he was. It is pretty scary, because he knew exactly what I was wearing so he was watching me. Ever since then, I have been very skeptical of anyone off of CraigsList.

A little word of caution, be very very careful seeking employment, selling items or buying items off of CraigsList. You never know what will happen. Trust no one.

It's Wacky Wednesday. Laugh A Little

Always laugh when you can. It is cheapest medicine.

Laughter is the shock absorber that eases the blows of life.

Wall Street Occupy

The Wall Street Occupy group has raised almost $300,000 in funds to support their movement. The group is growing nationwide and has spread to Rome and London. I am sure the U.S. Government never planned on the group gaining momentum like they have. People are tired of the economy and they are expressing their Freedom of Speech. Honestly if I were in the government, I would be worried about the group.

People are demanding change. Most of the big corporations don't even pay taxes. They are supposed to be creating jobs with their tax break in the United States, but they aren't creating jobs they are cutting jobs left and right. In the meantime, the government is taxing the hell out of the working middle class. They take enough taxes out of my husband to support another family on and we are struggling because of it. He gets paid every two weeks and they take as much as $1,000 out of his check every two weeks. That is 26,000 a year in taxes. That is another person's wages. Meanwhile, a lot of these big corporations aren't paying a dime in taxes. Then they take almost half the income of the working class trying to support their families. None of it makes any sense what so ever.

Then there are the ones who can't find jobs. There seems to be a large group of educated experienced people in their late 30's and up who can't find work. It is like we are washed up at 40, if we were laid off. Nobody wants to hire us. We are either over educated for the position or have too much experience. I have been looking for work, it's not easy. The wages are extremely low, less than half of what I used to make before. It seems employers are looking for younger people without any commitments to a family. At interviews, I am always asked how many children do I have and how old are they? A lot of employers don't want to hire women with children. I have worked every since I have had children, it never interfered with my job in the past, so why would it interfere now?

Another thing I hear is, why are you applying for this position when you have a degree in psychology? Why??? Obviously, it is to work is what I really want to tell them. Or another thing I am told is I don't think you will be satisfied with the position, because of the wages. I used to make $20 an hour working full time and now I am applying for positions making $8 or $9 an hour part-time. My attitude is, something is better than nothing, but they just don't seem to get it. I understand that when you are starting over with a new company, you have to work your way up, I am not going to find a job making $20 an hour in this economy. I started with the company in 1999 making $7.50 an hour working full time. Even back then, it was easier to find a job making more than you are now. At least it was full time, giving you more earning potential. That was 12 years ago, it is sad you make more money 12 years ago than you can today.

That is the reasoning behind the Wall Street Occupy. I understand why they are angry. We want jobs, jobs that we can support our families on. The big companies are taking their tax break and using the money to build companies overseas employing people in other countries, not people in the United States. That is not what the tax break was designed for and our government is not stopping them. They are burying the middle class alive. We have spent years of our lives helping these big corporations build their companies and they throw us away like garbage. We are a generation that has dedicated endless hours into investing in our future and we have nothing to show for it. We did what we were supposed to do, we went to college and worked hard to build a future for our families and to give our families a descent home to live in and a chance to go to college themselves. So many of our generation has lost their jobs, their homes and lucky if they even have a place to live. Everything we have worked for is gone and we are still paying the student loans for our education. The government is doing nothing to stop these companies from doing what they are doing. What ever happen to the American Dream? We have lost almost everything we own because of the decisions our government has made and they have the audacity to wonder why are we so angry?

Where Do They Go?

After doing the post the other day on The American People Are Getting The Boot. I started thinking, where are all these families going now that are getting foreclosed on? I know one of my daughters friends, her family was forced to go live with her Grandmother. But, not everyone is fortunate enough to have a family member to move in with if they can't afford an apartment. Sometimes renting somewhere big enough to accommodate children is more costly than the home they were living in. So, what do they do? Where do they go?

Everyone thinks, it can't happen to them. They have owned their home for 5, 10 or even 20 years. They have been at their job for several years. Then one day, they get laid off and can't find another job. Along comes the foreclosure notice and they are out, they are left to find a new home for their family to live. God help them if they are one of the millions, the bank foreclosed on for one late payment or one those who had a mortgage through Bank of America and their home was foreclosed on them for no apparent reason just so the banks could get their hands on some of the 700 billion dollars bail out money Bush decided to hand out to mortgage companies.

So, where do they go from here? Michigan ranks in 8th place nationwide for foreclosures. I started calling the Housing Authority in Wayne County yesterday to ask questions about Section 8 or low income housing. Wayne County won't be accepting applications for Section 8 for almost 5 years, the cities offering low rent has a waiting list of at least two years, one city in Wayne County has one bedroom apartments available, but won't rent a one bedroom to families with children. Which is understandable, but what if you have no where else to go other than a one bedroom for the mean time? After making several calls, I told one women "I'm a single woman with two kids and my house is in foreclosure. What can I do?" Her solution, was to look for a shelter. What about the women or families this is a reality? Where will they go?

You can't really blame it on Section 8 for the list being so long and not having available funds for Section 8. They do what they can. To add to the mess, Michigan has now put a 4 year cap on Welfare funds. If you live in Michigan and have been receiving benefits for at least 4 years, you benefits are now cut. There are a lot of people that abuse the system, but there are also single parents and low income families that depend on their benefits for survival because they have not been fortunate enough to fall into that small percentage of Americans with jobs paying enough for their family to survive on.

The blame falls on the United States Government. It is time for the Government to say, we can no longer offer aide to other countries, our own American People are living in a crisis every day. I don't know about you, but I am very tired of hearing about this country or that country needing help from the United States Government. They talk crap about us and imprison our citizens, but when they need help they come running to our government to help them.

ABC World News, has made a commitment to Made In America Products. Running show after show on buying American Made Products to help Americans get back to work. Below is a clip, if you haven't seen the segments before.

46.2 million Americans are living in poverty. Some of these people and families are forced out on the street, living out of their cars, tents or where ever they can. Even though our government isn't doing enough, they can only do so much. Part of the responsibility falls on the American Companies that have moved their manufacturing jobs overseas or the companies that have moved their call centers over seas, it is time to bring them back and the American Government needs to step in and put a plan in place to do so. But, the American people need to do their part also. Seek out products made in the United States, the more American made products we buy, the more jobs will be created for Americans.

The American People Are Getting The Boot

The President Elections are just around the corner. I usually look forward to the Presidential Elections, but this time around I am having a hard time getting motivated about one particular candidate. Bush put us in this economic pit and Obama has done little to take us out of it. On October 3, 2008, Bush's bill was signed by the House and signed into law to bail out $700 billion of mortgage related assets. By the end of 2008, banks had 850,000 homes in foreclosure as apposed to in 404,000 homes were in foreclosure in 2007. In 2009, home foreclosures were reported at 937,840. That means 1 in every 136 homes were in foreclosure in the United States. Banks were abusing the law, to receive the bail out money. In 2009, 2.9 million homes received a foreclosure notice. By May of 2011, 2.5 million homes have hit foreclosure, and it is expected to see 5.5 million homes in foreclosure by the end of 2011. These figures do not include those who were evicted from their apartments.

Not only does this effect the millions of home owners who have lost their homes, it effects the current home owners equity in their home. The mortgage companies may be foreclosing on all these homes to get the bail out money, but they are not going to win in the end. Not only has home values dropped dramatically, the mortgage applications are at a 13 year low. It is a shame, Bush sold out the American home owners and gave the mortgage companies the opportunity to make a profit off of throwing American Families out of their homes.

Millions of Americans are out of work and loosing their homes. According to the 2011 Census Bureau reports for 2010, 15.1 percent of Americans are living in poverty. That translates to 46.2 million Americans living in poverty. Nearly 1 and 6 Americans were living in poverty in 2010. What is 2011 going to look like?

With an economy like this, everyone loses. No one wins in the end. It is a disgrace the American people have to pay for Bush's big ideas and Obama has done very little to help the situation either. So, who do we vote for. This election coming up, stands to be one of the most detrimental elections since the Great Depression. The Republics dug the whole and the Democrats sat by and watched us fall in. So, who do we vote for? This election determines whether or not we fall in deeper or begin to crawl out of this economic disaster the politicians have created. So, if you haven't been interested in politics yet, it is time to start. You may be next to fall in to the 46.2 million Americans living in poverty or one of the 5.5 million Americans losing their homes.

Same Sex Couple Harassed At Sinai Grace Hospital

Jennifer White, 24, was in the hospital Tuesday night and her girlfriend, Jaquice Smith was waiting in the hallway while her girlfriend Jennifer White was in the room with her mother. Smith had to wait in the hallway, because only one person is allowed in the room with a patient. Smith was approached by a security guard and said he attacked her with homophobic slurs.

It is sad that White's mother suffered from a serious life threatening Asthma attack and she has to deal with a personal attack by a hospital employee. As the situation escalated, there where several security guards standing there and watching was going on and no one stepped in to stop him from spouting homophobic slurs at the two young women.

When you are a bi-stander and do nothing to stop what is going on, the person doing the bullying feels as though you are supporting them, because no one is stepping up to stop what is going on. Obviously, if someones life is in danger then call the police to stop the incident before someone gets hurt or killed. But, I am sure all the security guards have been through training to train them on appropriate behavior. They knew they shouldn't have allowed him to stand there and spout homophobic slurs at the two young women. If there is a situation, they need to deal with the situation properly without causing a scene. The other security guards should have stepped in and dispersed the situation. Now, they may be looking at possibly going down with him.
